The 700+ volume genealogy collection housed at the Headquarters Library in downtown Gainesville includes: Alachua County Cemetery Survey (completed in 1966), Gainesville Sun Obituary file index, microfilms of Gainesville Sun (some as early as 1880's, plus other bits of Gainesville newspapers (not the Sun) that are as early as1863); Florida Census (1830-1930), FL State Censuses (1885 & 1935), Bureau of Vital Statistics Florida Death, Marriage & Divorce index on microfiche,  local City Directories, local and major city phone directories, bound transcribed copies of Alachua County Census (1830-1880) and Inter-Library loan services through HeritageQuest.
