Mindy Abovitz is a musician and media maker from South Florida currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. She has an undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and a Masters in Media Studies from the New School for Social Research. She has been playing drums for 11 years (got her start in Gainesville in allegra unlimited westmont il 2000 drumming for Ript and Dura Mater at Wayward Council while booking shows at CMC) and has since taught at Rock Camp for Girls NYC and Vibe Songmakers.
