Worley, Trustees Chair, called the meeting to order at 5:31 pm with a quorum present.       MINUTES OF MEETING The Minutes were approved by consensus, as submitted.     GUESTS AND SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS (No items submitted in this category.                  Board of Trustees Ad hoc Committee Library Director Search Ms. Baldry, Alachua County Human Resources Manager, distributed and allegra grapefruit presented an overview of the two Ad hoc Committee meetings concerning the recruitment process for the Library Director position. Moore, Trustee, asked for clarification about the discussion held during the previous Board of Trustees meeting concerning the minimum qualifications. At the April 28, 2011, Governing Board meeting, Ms. Worley will present a proposed schedule for recruitment. 00, which includes funds for mileage, airfare, hotel, meals, a reception for the community and staff to meet candidates, advertisements, and various printing and materials.   Additional funds may be needed for relocation costs.

  Ms Jackson, Financial Services Administrator, reported that the funds will come from the unused salary for the Library Director’s position during its vacant months. A tentative date has been set for interviews on July 18, 2011, pending the Trustees’ schedules.   Ms Baldry stated that all of the Trustees are not required to participate in interviews, but the Board of Trustees as a whole would prefer that everyone attend if possible. Moore was not able to attend the last Friends of the Library Board allegro bus 42qdp meeting but worked a couple of shifts at the Book Sale.

Roode, Friends of the Library President, reported that as of this morning, the Book Sale had raised $143,000 allegra grapefruit and will be finishing up this evening.   FOL has invited prisons, halfway houses, the homeless, Eastside High School, and culinary students to the grapefruit allegra Bookhouse to pick out any books left over after the sale. Augustine, SWAG, Levy County Libraries, and Putnam County Libraries. Field moved to approve the allegra grapefruit revised policy and forward to the Governing Board.             INFORMATIONAL ITEMS allegra grapefruit THAT REQUIRE NO ACTION A. Monroe, Trustee, allegra grapefruit asked several questions related to the monthly report: ·         4% decrease in overall Library visits – Decrease due to a malfunction with the gate counter at the Millhopper Branch last year. ·         Millage rate upcoming FY – No plan for an increase in the millage rate is anticipated at this time.

  Once information is received from the Tax Collector, around June 1, 2011, staff will prepare the tentative millage rate to be presented to the Governing Board. ·         Increase in fuel costs – Currently, ACLD is under contract with Lewis Oil so fuel costs will not increase.   However, the contract is up for bid annually, and as such, ACLD will have to absorb any increases then.   ·         Focus groups for youth – ACLD is looking to involve local schools in establishing focus groups concerning youth.   There are also announcements for the Library on local high schools’ morning news, and Summer Reading ads which are nationally made will be running soon.   ·         Cell tower at the Tower Road Branch – Not progressing quickly; T-Mobile has asked for a 3rd amendment to the agreement.   ·         State pension reform – Very close to being passed and will affect any government agency, including the Library District. Monroe also hoped that there would be more partnership with ACLD and the schools in the 32609 zip code and commented that customer service at the Tower Road Branch could be improved.
