Monthly Reports (April, May & June 2010) Mr. Monroe asked if Trustees could receive advance notice of upcoming programs as he felt the programs are excellent and would like to participate in more of the programming. Monroe inquired as to the status of the Public Services Division Director hire. Hirsch reported that staff interviewed and offered the position to a candidate, who declined. The position will remain vacant as a cost savings, and we will conduct a reorganization analysis through Human Resources. Hirsch announced that HQ Public Services Administrator interviews would be conducted next week. Suzi Blaze has been overseeing the Headquarters Public Services departments on an interim basis and is doing an excellent job B. Library District Press Releases and Publicity Mr. Hirsch highlighted the Library Partnership’s one-year anniversary, Juneteenth and Black Music Month. BOARD OF TRUSTEES COMMENT Trustee Litsey announced that this meeting was his last as he has accepted a position as Head of Inter-Library Loan at Texas Tech University and will be leaving Gainesville. The Friends also raffled a basket to raise money for the FLA scholarship fund at FLA Conference. Alexander allegra zurich distributed a list of Committees for FY 2009-2010. Preparations continue for the Author Gala featuring Michael Connelly November 7, 2010, at the Hilton. Shaw, Foundation member, also reported that they are continuing to look for sponsors for the Author Gala. As of allegra zurich now, the Foundation has received three sponsors at the $5,000 level. Recorded Books will be bringing in audio narrator George Guidall to do a reading at the Gala. Shaw noted that Michael Connelly’s website has a link to the Foundation’s website, and vice versa. UNFINISHED BUSINESS (No items submitted in this category. Election of Board of Trustees Chairperson and Board of Trustees Vice Chairperson – Mr. Worley will remain on the Pension Advisory Committee. Dickison volunteered to serve as the Foundation Board of Directors Liaison, and Ms. Moore volunteered to serve as the Friends of the Library Liaison. Filer asked to remain on the Legislative Committee, and Mr. Litsey will allegra generic walmart continue to serve on the Legislative Committee. Appointments will be finalized at the May 19, 2010, Trustees meeting. The Legislative Committee is active now due to the possible cut of State Aid. Hirsch stressed that the legislators are looking for supporters to speak up and let them know why libraries are important to the State of Florida.
