                    APPROVAL OF AGENDA The meeting was called to order at 5:30 pm.                   MINUTES OF August 18, 2010 The Minutes were approved as submitted.         GUESTS AND SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS             (No items submitted in this category.                  PAL Library Cooperative Governing Board Report Ms. Field, PAL Governing Board, reported that officers were elected at their first meeting on September 23, 2010. Hirsch, Library Director, added that the Board went through formalities for the State Aid Application, and that the State has found no deficiencies.   The next meeting will be held on November 9, 2010, at 1 pm in the Headquarters Foundation Room.   The PAL Governing Board does not have a set meeting time and place; meetings are scheduled according to Board member availability.                  Pension Advisory Committee Report The Pension Advisory Committee met on October 13, 2010.   Dan Johnson, Bogdahn Consulting Group, reported the move from State Street Bank to Regions Trust for account administration and from Rhumbline to the previously approved investment firms was completed, and this was a smooth transition.   This was the first full quarter following the restructuring of the Pension Fund, and the Fund did well for the period ending September 30, 2010.   The Pension Advisory Committee approved a recommendation to the Pension Board of Trustees to authorize Regions Trust to rebalance the R&D account quarterly to maintain a balance of $200,000, making contributions or distributions as necessary from the investment portfolios at their target weights.   This recommendation will be presented to the Pension Board of used allegro bus motorhomes Trustees at their meeting on October 28.                 used allegro bus motorhomes Friends of the Library (FOL) Report Ms. Moore, Trustees FOL Representative, reported that the FOL Board met on October 8, 2010, and covered the used allegro bus motorhomes budget, the upcoming book sale, and building issues.   Chris Culp, Public Services Administrator for Headquarters, used allegro bus motorhomes attended and gave a snapshot of recent hiring.   She informed the FOL Board used allegro bus motorhomes that the eBranch is the fourth used allegro bus motorhomes busiest branch in terms of circulation, behind Headquarters, Millhopper Branch, and Tower Road Branch.                 Foundation Board of Directors Report Mr. Hirsch attended the October 13, 2010 Foundation Board Meeting at which they discussed the Author Gala with Michael Connelly on November 7, 2010.

  Recorded Books will be sending George Guidall to do a reading.   The Foundation has been very fortunate, as last year, Diana Gabaldon charged no fees, and this year, Michael Connelly is used allegro bus motorhomes charging no fees or travel expenses.         UNFINISHED BUSINESS                                        (No items submitted in this category.      Review of Library Director’s Performance Review Process Mr.   Due to Sunshine Law, all correspondence regarding the Library Director’s performance Review should be done through Ms.       INFORMATIONAL ITEMS THAT REQUIRE NO ACTION A.                  Monthly Reports (August and September 2010) Mr. Hirsch highlighted the summary report of the September 2010 statistics, and noted that all categories had increased from last fiscal year.   Circulation of downloadables increased from 30,000 in FY used allegro bus motorhomes 08-09 to 150,000 in FY 09-10.   There was discussion about the accessibility of ebooks. Monroe, Trustee, asked about the Library Director’s meeting with Randy Wright, UF College of Journalism and Communications, and Pam Shamel, WUFT-TV. Hirsch responded that ACLD and WUFT-TV are looking into possible collaborative projects, which may include locally produced content. Monroe, Trustee inquired about ACLD’s experience with allegra banquets illinois the TANF employees.   Unfortunately, additional money has not been allocated at this time for any future employees.                  Northeast Florida Library Information Network (NEFLIN) – Return on Investment Mr. Hirsch presented the attachment from NEFLIN used allegro bus motorhomes and explained how NEFLIN operates.   ACLD pays $900 a year for membership in NEFLIN, and this year, received $63,731 worth of services, the majority of which came from training.
