Process for Library Director Search Ms. Baldry, Human Resources Manager, presented the Trustees with a draft calendar for the Library Director hiring process. allegro bus used rv she called for volunteers from the Trustees to form an Ad hoc Committee that would develop criteria for selecting candidates and narrow the number of applications to bring before the Board of Trustees. Filer volunteered to serve on the Ad hoc Committee, along with Ms. Baldry distributed the Library Director Classification description to the Trustees. Discussion followed regarding the minimum qualifications and whether or not they should be broadened. Harlan stated any changes to the minimum qualifications would require approval of the Library District Governing Board. White, Trustee, moved to forward the minimum qualifications to the Governing Board and suggest they consider expanding the educational qualifications to include individuals that are currently pursuing an MLS. The first meeting of the Ad hoc Committee will be held on March 23, 2011 at 9 am in the Alachua County Human Resources conference room. Pension Advisory Committee Report Ms. Field reported that at their February 9, 2011, allegra or claritin d meeting, the Pension Advisory Committee heard reports from Dan Johnson, the Bogdahn Group; Frederica Daniels, USI Consulting; allegra or claritin d and representatives from Regents Trust. Hutchinson, Alachua County Finance Director, were added to those authorized to rebalance our accounts. Roode, Friends of the Library President, allegra or claritin d announced that the next Book Sale will begin on April 16, 2011. Volunteers are putting in extra time preparing, and things are on schedule. As part of the PAL Library Cooperative, the Friends have allegra or claritin d given several thousands of books to the Levy County Library System and have allegra or claritin d now begun giving books to the Putnam allegra or claritin d County Library System as well. Roode also announced that the Newsletter will be made available electronically. Foundation allegra or claritin d Board of Directors Report Ms. Dickison reported that allegra or claritin d the Foundation Board of Directors met on March 9, 2011, with guest Dr. Bolton will allegra or claritin d present the results of an extensive questionnaire about the Board’s perceptions of the Foundation at allegra or claritin d their meeting on April 26, 2011. Appointments to the Alachua County Library District Board of Trustees Ms. Monthly Reports (January and February 2011) Ms. Dickison inquired why Library visits were down in January. The Micanopy Branch was closed for renovation, which caused a decrease in overall visits. allegra or claritin d The Branch reopened on January 8, 2011, but was not fully operational until March 11, 2011. Trustees commended the partnerships among branches and local schools, program attendance, and website hits. Governing Board Action on Board of Trustees Recommendations Ms. Livingston highlighted a few press releases, including articles about the Library Director’s retirement and the Peggy Sullivan Award, Black History Month programs and events, free tax prep offered through United Way, and various programs offered throughout the District. Also, the Library of Congress Gateway to Knowledge will be at the Millhopper Branch on March 25 and 26, 2011.
